Health Alert – Canine Influenza Update

Click here for the latest update!

This morning we received a call from a pet parent whose doggie stayed with us on Thursday, June 22nd – Friday, June 23rd. On Saturday, June 24th, this doggie started showing signs of illness including coughing, fever, and lethargy. This doggie’s vet will be sending out a nasal swab today and we will have results within 5-7 days. At this time, the H3N2 virus has not been confirmed in this dog, but we wanted to share this information to keep you updated on the issue.

The average incubation period for H3N2 is 1-4 days, so please monitor your pets for any signs of illness and contact us if you notice your pup showing any symptoms. As always, please keep home any pets that are not feeling well.

We know many pet parents are concerned about the dog flu but also have travel plans this summer. We have launched a new in-home pet care service for current customers to help accommodate you and your pet’s needs. The same amazing team that cares for your pup at DDA will be providing these services in your home. If you are interested in finding out more information, please email info@dogdayafternoon.net.

We will continue to keep you updated and let you know if anything else arises that would affect your pet’s health or safety at Dog Day Afternoon.
